SDCEA to host Toxic City book launch in Wentworth

The “Toxic City!” book was compiled by SDCEA staff

A BOOK launch and panel discussion will be hosted by the South Durban Community Environmental Alliance (SDCEA) for a book entitled Toxic City on Thursday, 13 September.
Community members are encouraged to attend.

The “Toxic City!” book was compiled by SDCEA staff and reviewed by Professor Rajen Naidoo of the Discipline of Occupational and Environmental Health, University of KwaZulu-Natal. It displays the health impacts of chemicals emitted by companies in the south Durban area as well as some statistics obtained from the Cancer Registry, created by SDCEA, showing how these chemicals have affected the health and well-being of our communities.
The launch will be held on Thursday, 13 September from 9m at Austerville community hall. The panel discussion will focus on environmental and health issues.
