BREAKING NEWS: Beached whale washes up at Amanzimtoti

Authorities are on their way to deal with the beached whale

TOTI beachgoers were in for a shock when they discovered a beached whale on Pipeline Beach this morning (21 August).

It was a sad sight for most who watched the whale’s body roll in the waves

The sight of a gill plate remnants indicated that the four-ton sub-adult humpback whale was already dead according to a beach official.

Parks department law enforcement is on the beach dealing with the whale while they wait for the arrival of Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife and NSRI who are said to bring a Tractor Loader Backhoe (TL) truck to dispose or bury the carcass.
