[VIDEO] Wentworth shaken by fatal shooting after policeman robbed

Of the three criminals at the scene, one man was killed

TRAFFIC came to a stand-still just after midday today, (Thursday, 16 August) when a shootout erupted in Quality Street, Wentworth following an alleged house robbery and a high speed chase.

Of the two criminals at the scene, one man was killed while another fled the scene.

 

After they had robbed an off-duty police officer of a large amount of money. The armed robbers had allegedly followed the PT alarm officer and his father who is a policeman from the bank to his home, where they robbed him of R25,000.

 
According to a source close to the police, who asked to remain anonymous, the policeman then gave chase. The robbers’ car rolled on Quality Street, and a shootout ensued.

One robber was shot and later died at the scene. The stolen money was allegedly recovered from the wreckage.
