Bluff taxi layby lane project on track

Any damage done as a result of the construction will be repaired before the project has been completed.

PROGRESS on the new layby lane project has been moving along swiftly along Gray’s Inn Road on the Bluff.
Signage along the site has been installed and the leveling and compacting of the layby lane has started.
“Concrete kerbing and channeling has been installed and will be completed soon. The last layer of asphalt will be laid, completing most of the constructing taking place on Gray’s Inn Road,” said ward 66 councillor JP Prinsloo.

Once this has been completed, the next phase of the lay-by project will commence, which includes the erection of bus shelters.

Some concerns have been raised by the community about fencing which was damaged during the course of the project. Any damage done as a result of the construction will be repaired before the project has been completed.

“Local labour and a community liaison officer (CLO) has been deployed from my office to oversee the projects and ensure they are kept on track. The CLO will provide my office with weekly updates to resolve any challenges experienced on the sites,” he added.
Updates on the progress of these projects will be posted on the Bluff Community Noticeboard Facebook page.
