#PlasticFreeJuly: Roll up your sleeves for Cuttings Beach clean-up
"This plastic-free July we are going to share practical tips and advice on how to minimise, if not eradicate, plastic from our every day lives," - Clean Surf Project.
In the spirit of Plastic-Free July, Clean Surf Project invites the greater Amanzimtoti community and those who are interested to roll up their sleeves and take part in the much-needed clean-up of Cuttings Beach on Saturday, 7 July from 8am.
“Everything in life is a result of choices we have made,” explained Clean Surf Project. “This plastic-free July we are going to share practical tips and advice on how to minimise, if not eradicate, plastic from our every day lives.
Please note that we don’t have all the answers and are by no means getting it completely right ourselves. But this is a journey, and a very necessary one, towards fixing and healing the ills we have caused our planet, it’s creatures and ultimately ourselves.
The environmental group admitted that many might wonder: ‘why all the fuss?’, ‘it just looks messy – so what?’.
“Not only is our plastic pollution unsightly and a poor reflection on us as dependents of this globe, it is causing harm beyond what the eye can see,” explained CSP.
“Our goal for this Plastic-Free July is to share with all of you how we are hurting not only animals but all living beings, particularly human beings. We don’t want to guilt you into doing what is right but to rather make you aware of how the little changes you make individually can benefit you, your loved ones and the entire human race.”
CSP urges all followers to look out for daily Facebook posts, inspiring fun and interesting ways to use less plastic, especially single-use plastic. Follow CSP on Instagram and Facebook.
