Ansteys Beach dune stability finalised

This next phase includes fencing along the newly restored dune.

THE Ansteys Beach dune restoration work has entered its second phase.
This next phase includes fencing along the newly restored dune.

The new stairs were a lovely addition as part of the beach upgrades

This will assist with issues related to sand movement along Foreshore Drive and the prevention of future deterioration of the dune.

The initial phase of work focused on the rehabilitation and upgrade and restoration of the beach dunes with heavy-duty sandbags, the installation of stairs, repaving the current and new picnic areas, installation of new water outlets and improvements of shower water outlets. The first phase began on 18 January and has been completed.
Phase three of the upgrade, which will commence once work on phase two has been completed, will include the planting of dune vegetation and the installation of beach equipment (benches, tables and beach shelters).
