Taxi’s Montclair fare steal his car at gunpoint

The two men left the driver on the road while they made a getaway in his car.

AN APP-based transportation service driver was threatened with weapons, dragged out of his car and robbed by two passengers on Wednesday night, 6 June.

 
The driver had received a request to transport two clients from Acute Street in Durban to Montclair.

When he questioned the client about where in Montclair they needed to go, they told him they would direct him once they were in the area.

 
He proceeded to drive and once they arrived in Montclair, one of the men produced a firearm and pointed at the driver, while the other man produced a knife.

He was instructed to get into the back seat, which he did in fear for his life. He was dragged out of the vehicle before being searched. The men took his cash and cellphone. The two men left he driver on the road while they made a getaway in his car.
The vehicle was later found in E section, Umlazi.
