Business boosts wildlife team’s clean-up of Treasure Beach

The day was organised and overseen by the Wildlife Environment Society of South (WESSA) and supported by Sodurba Tourism, Sapphire Coast Tourism’s neighbouring community tourism organisation (CTO).

EARTH-conscious individuals joined forces in the name of World Oceans Day on Friday, 8 June to get stuck in and clean Treasure Beach.

The clean-up was deemed a great success with members and employees from Mondi, SAB Breweries, Seaboard, Clean Surf Project, Wessa Treasure Beach, Ethekwini Municipality, DSW and Sapref joining in, among others.

The Clean Surf Project crew: Denzil van der Westhuizen, Candice Harding and Cheryl Retief scratch for finer pieces of litter hidden in the sand, which pose a surprisingly greater threat to the environment and its creatures.

The day was organised and overseen by the Wildlife Environment Society of South (WESSA) and supported by Sodurba Tourism, Sapphire Coast Tourism’s neighbouring community tourism organisation (CTO).

The campaign now looks geared up for another clean-up campaign this September, to contribute to the International World Clean Up Day’s celebration on 15 September.
