Library imparts computer skills to Montclair youth

Basic computer software and hardware skills were taught

MONTWOOD library has proudly graduated its fifth computer literacy class on May 15.

 
The course is an initiative started by library manager Lionel Reddy and his staff to help uplift the youth of the area and empower them with skills to assist them to enter the job market.

 
Retired teacher Dianne Van Den Berg gave of her time to facilitate the course. Basic computer software and hardware skills were taught over the duration of the 10-week course.

Ward councillor Gavin Hegter attended the graduation and thanked Dianne, Lionel and all the Montclair library staff for their efforts to uplift young members of the community.

This programme is ongoing and any interested prospective participants can enquire at the library as to when the next course will start.
