Leeann Amas was at the scene of the Bluff Road fire last night at about 7.45pm, when she got calls from motorists who were confused about the ball of light (fire) they saw reflected in the sky. “We decided to go check it out, and on our arrival we discovered huge flames blazing from the roof of RB’S Pawnbrokers. It was absolute chaos, there were people and cars everywhere,” she said.

She added that emergency services were already at the scene and had managed to subdue the flames. “If they had  not arrived on time, it probably would have turned out a lot worse if the flames had spread to the rest of the buildings. I’m saddened by this incident as this could mean some people will be without jobs and it’ll likely be a big loss to the owner,” she said.
