Woodlands motorist beaten by car thieves

A WOODLANDS driver was beaten and thrown out of his van by two men on Monday, 14 May.
While driving along Alamein Road, the motorist stopped when he found a Toyota Corolla blocking his path.

“Two men jumped out of the Corolla and approached his vehicle. One jumped into the passenger side while the other got into the back of his van,” said Montclair SAPS spokesman, capt Dereck Vijiam.
Sensing what was happening, the driver chose to follow their instructions since one of the men produced a gun and ordered him to continue driving.

He was ordered to drive along Fairbridge Road, Woodlands before being instructed to stop on the side of the road. “The man at the back of the van jumped out and pulled the driver out of the vehicle. He punched and kicked the motorist while he was on the ground.”
The beating stopped when his assaulter jumped into the vehicle and drove off with his armed accomplice.
