UPDATE: Worker finally freed at Bluff building site collapse site

He was hospitalised after being extricated from the rubble.

A worker who was entrapped by rubble and sand for two-and-a-half hours after part of a Bluff house collapsed in Beaumont Avenue, Ocean View, has finally been freed.

Rescue Care paramedics confirmed that the worker, who was entrapped when the landslide happened at about 1pm today, sustained moderate injuries. Spokesman Garrith Jamieson did not specify the injuries of the man, who is in his 30s. He was hospitalised after being extricated from the rubble.

The police search and rescue unit worked alongside fire department officials to dig the man out while paramedics stabilised him.
