Police seek help in fatal Jacobs hit and run probe

Wentworth police arrived to find the man in a critical condition.

WITNESSES are needed by Wentworth SAPS to provide information about a fatal hit and run which took place on Chamberlain Road, Jacobs on Monday, 4 April.
A culpable homicide case was opened after a man was knocked down and killed by an unknown vehicle which fled the scene.

Wentworth police arrived to find the man in a critical condition. “He was rushed to Wentworth Hospital before being transferred to another hospital,” said Wentworth SAPS spokesman, Capt Mbuso Gumede. The man later died in hospital. Wentworth SAPS urge any witnesses to come forward to assist with details about the incident and the vehicle involved.
