Grow your vocab: #SLSWednesdayWord

This week, learn about the search for items.

HOW much time do you spend checking your pockets to ensure you have everything you need?

Did you know there is a term for that? There is and it’s this week’s #SLSWednesdayWord – grubbling.

Easier to pronounce than last week’s honorificabilitudinity, grubbling is an outdated way of referring to the action of searching in your pockets for items. It can also refer to searching in drawers or other spaces. It is sometimes used to describe feeling around in the dark for something.

Synonym: groping

Next time you see someone doing the tell-tale pocket-search dance, ask them if they are grubbling and impress them with your newfound terminology.
