Eleven-month Cuttings Beach road closure to allow for sea outfall pipeline work

A temporary car park facility will be provided off Travancore Drive

MOTORISTS are urged to be aware of the temporary closure of Tanjore Drive (Cuttings Beach Road) for about 11 months.
The purpose of the closure is to allow for the replacement of a section of the existing sea outfall pipeline along Cuttings Beach, in accordance with the Environmental Authorisation received for the Southern Wastewater Treatment Works solids removal and treatment facilities upgrade.

Only construction vehicles will be allowed to use the road during the closure period. A temporary car park facility will be provided off Travancore Drive, from which there will be unlimited access to Cuttings Beach by means of a designated pedestrian walkway.
All queries about this project should be directed to Khulekani Magwaza, site agent with Group Five Coastal on 076-811-6570.
