Police seek help in identifying unidentified victim of fatal M4 hit and run

The pedestrian, who is believed to be between 24 and 27 years of age, was struck by a vehicle which left the scene.

Bluff police are still trying to identify the victim of a fatal hit and run which took place on the M4 southbound, near the Clairwood turn-off at about 3pm on Saturday, 24 March.

The pedestrian, who is believed to be between 24 and 27 years of age, was struck by a vehicle which left the scene.

The victim is a black man between the ages of 24 and 27 who has yet to be identified, and for whom no missing person’s report has been filed.  The victim succumbed to the multiple injuries he sustained on impact with the unknown vehicle.

Brighton Beach lead detective, Warrant Officer Joanna Baldeo urges individuals who are missing a family member or friend who resides in adjacent areas to the Brighton Beach policing area, or who regularly visits the wider Durban South Basin, to contact her for assistance in identifying the deceased person.

Any witnesses to the collision are also urged to provide information to W/O Baldeo by calling on 031–451-8071 or 074-807-8479.
