Wentworth police urge any witnesses to the shooting to come forward

A MAN sustained severe injuries when he was shot while attending a funeral service in Austerville Drive, Wentworth on Saturday, 3 March.
According to Wentworth SAPS a gunman entered a tent where a funeral was underway and opened fire on the crowd.

A 22-year-old man was shot in the neck and armpit, before the shooter fled the scene.
“The victim was immediately rushed to hospital for treatment,” said Wentworth SAPS communication officer, capt Mbuso Gumede.

Wentworth police urge any witnesses to the shooting to come forward. A case of attempted murder was opened.
