M4 motorist cut free after colliding with bus

Paramedics found the man entrapped in the wreckage.

A motorist sustained moderate injuries after the vehicle he was driving collided into the rear of a bus on the M4 southbound near Congella on Friday afternoon, 23 February.

Rescue Care Paramedics arrived at the scene just after 1pm to find the man entrapped in the wreckage. Durban Fire Department fire fighters worked to cut the man free while advanced life support paramedics stabilised him inside the wreckage of the car. Once freed, he was carefully extricated before being taken to a nearby hospital.

Events leading up to the crash are unknown however SAPS and Metro Police were on the scene and will investigate further.
