WATCH: Innovative couple creates world’s first edible spoon

The main ingredient of these edible spoons is millet, an extremely water-conserving crop.

With the frightening amount of litter that ends up on the streets, in parks, rivers, the ocean or landfills every day, the world is past the point of asking if something should be done to reduce this amount.

An innovative couple, Narayana Peesapaty and Pradnya Keskar recently developed the world’s first edible spoon. These spoons are available in sweet, savoury and plain flavours are being mass produced. The cutlery is durable in both hot and cold liquids, they don’t dissolve or fall apart but end off the meal as a crunchy snack.

“Plastic spoons are full of toxins, our spoons are full of nutrition,” said the couple.

The main ingredient is millet, a very water-conserving crop.
