[GRAPHIC VIDEO] Flakka: Signs and side effects

The new drug Flakka is causing panic in Durban. Familiarise yourself with the symptoms and side effects.

What is Flakka? It’s a new synthetic drug which is said to be a potent mixture  of heroin and crack, or heroin and methamphetamines. This drug and the zombie-like effects have been making headlines since 2014 when videos started going viral with people high on Flakka throwing themselves at vehicles, walls or their bodies twisted in odd ways and the scariest of all – biting.

Flakka has been reported to have hit Durban shores and reality has become more scarier for those living in drug-ridden communities. But if you do suspect a person is using this drugs there are signs to need to look out for and get them help immediately.

Flakka side effects are described as cocaine-like changes in behaviour but possibly 10 times worse:

According to drugabuse.com those who spend time with someone who uses or abuses Flakka may notice that the person exhibits personality changes over time. Users may become more disinhibited, impulsive and/or agitated. The close relationship between Flakka and ‘bath salts’ suggest that the use of this drug may also lead to increased risks of uncontrollable or excessive movement and hyperactivity.

WATCH: Flakka has already spread through Brazil, America and Australia
