Bluff comedian wins coveted Comikazi title

Bluff comedian Daryl Williams scooped the Parker’s Comedy and Jive Comikazi open mic competition at Montecasino in Fourways, Johannesburg last night (Wednesday, 1 November).

The popular comedy club showcases the best in international and local comedians.

Williams competed in a series of heats in the build-up to the final, the heats of which took place between 4 and 25 October.

At last night’s grand final, hosted by Vittorio Leonardi, Williams was pitted against the finest emerging comedians in the country.

Williams’ serendipitous win comes on the eve of the opening of his debut one-man show in Durban on Friday, 3 November.

Titled Too Coloured?, the side-splitting showcase celebrates multi-cultural humour that can be enjoyed by anybody. It showcases Williams’ ability to relate to any race, age and culture.
