Man dies, teen left critical after Bluff crash

The four other injured people were stabilised and sent to hospital. Police are investigating the cause of the crash.

A MAN died and five others were seriously injured after two cars collided at the corner of Bluff and Old Mission roads last night (Tuesday, 31 October) just after 6pm.
Rescue Care paramedics found the wrecked vehicles in the junction.

Five others including a teenager were injured in Tuesday’s accident

A teenager, who was believed to be in the rear of a bakkie, was found some distance away from the wreckage with critical injuries. “He was stabilised before being transported to a nearby hospital,” said Rescue Care operations director, Garrith Jamieson.

A man was entrapped in the wreckage and had to be freed by Durban fire department officers who used the jaws of life. Advanced life support paramedics stabilised and transported him to hospital, however he died a while later, after he went into cardiac arrest.
The four other injured people were stabilised and sent to hospital. Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
