Death of Valerie Storbeck

Valerie Storbeck (61), an avid pool player, was respected and adored by all who knew her.

VALERIE Storbeck (61) of Amanzimtoti died in Kingsway Hospital on Monday morning after battling cancer for many years.
The avid pool player was well respected in the town and adored by all who knew her.

Valerie was president of the KZN Pool Federation for many years and was once owner of Illovo pub and restaurant, Moulin Rouge. The avid pool player, who celebrated her 61st birthday on 31 August, loved her family and friends unconditionally.

Valerie leaves behind her beloved family members and John Laas, her partner. Described as a ‘salt of the earth person’ and the life of every gathering, Valerie lived her life fully and purposefully. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Her funeral will be held on Thursday, 12 October at St Joseph’s Catholic Church in Florida Road, Morningside at 2pm.
