Con women bamboozle Montclair man

The man was handed a R2 coin and was told to urinate on it to complete the cleansing of bad luck

IT was a stroke of bad luck for a young man who was robbed by a trio of conmen in Montclair on Tuesday, 26 September.
While walking on Montclair Road from the mall, he was approached by an unknown man who touched his shoulder and left a black mark on his jacket.

While he brushed off the encounter and continued on his way, a woman who was following him, approached and questioned him about the man who had touched his shoulder. “While they were talking another woman joined the conversation and revealed she had also been touched by the same man.
A third woman explained that the black mark left on them was bad luck, which she knew how to remove,” said Montclair SAPS communication officer, Capt Dereck Vijiam.
The woman asked for a five cent coin and cellphones, which the man handed over. He was told that to lift the ‘curse’, he needed to hand over more items from his home. “He took them to his house where he handed over another cell phone and laptop. They arranged for a vehicle to take them back to the mall,” added Capt Vijiam.
At the mall, the man was handed a R2 coin and was told to urinate on it to complete the cleansing of bad luck. “When he returned from the toilet, the women were gone with his belongings,” said Capt Vijiam.
