Sweet tooths of the world unite!

Caramel love.

LOOKINGfor something tasty to make this weekend?

Why not skip the chocolate for a change and try some caramel?

The process of caramelisation happens when water is removed from sugar.

Caramelising sugar has been a tradition for making low-cost sweets since at least the 1600s. In the late 1800s, its popularity grew rampantly when people started adding milk and other delicious items to the mixture.

Caramel works well on waffles or pancakes. It can be used in cake recipes or even on meat on the braai.
