Unlucky 13 commuters as taxis crash on M4

A fully laden taxi rear-ended another on the southern freeway near the N2 split

Thirteen commuters were injured when a taxi was rear-ended by another taxi on the M4 southern freeway near the N2 split this morning (Monday, 24 July).

Rescue Care paramedics responded just after 7am to find a fully laden taxi with commuters had been rear-ended by another taxi which had no passengers.

All 13 commuters sustained minor injuries and were stabilised before being transported to various Durban hospitals.

While the cause of the collision is unknown, police responded to the scene and will investigate.
