Legion to pay tribute to soldiers’ ultimate sacrifice

An opportunity will be given to members of the public to lay a wreath or a flower to commemorate a loved one.

ON behalf of the city of Durban, the South African Legion hosts a commemoration service on Sunday, 16 July for the South African soldiers who gave their lives in battle.

Even though the service is to commemorate the Battle of Delville Wood, the Legion invites members of the public to join in commemorating any South African who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.

An opportunity will be given to members of the public to lay a wreath or a flower to commemorate a loved one. The service takes place at the Cenotaph in Dorothy Nyembe Street in Durban. Guests are asked to be seated at 10am as there is a punctual 10.30am start.
