The response on social media has been emphatic, with prayers being shared as the story reaches many parts of Durban.
Adelaide Meek or Mrs Meek is well known in the community and is part of the Malingbongwe Senior Citizens Club.

Gael still appeals for help from the community in the search for her mother. “She is 5ft (1,5 metres) tall with short, spiked grey hair. She was last seen wearing an off-white T-shirt, powder blue bermudas with dark blue, green, yellow and red stripes. She was wearing New Balance running shoes and had no jacket or jersey. Please help me find my mom,” said Gael.
