Can you relate to this week’s #SLSWednesdayWord?

Today's word describes a wish not strong enough to lead to action.

HOW often have you wanted to do something but never attempted to achieve that goal?

This week’s #SLSWednesdayWord describes a wish not strong enough to lead to action – velleity.

Velleity is a great description for those of us planning to write a novel, or run the Comrades, or backpack through Europe, who haven’t quite got around to making it happen.

It is derived from the Lantin word ‘velle’, which means to wish. It means an inclination to do something without a strong enough desire to bring about the action necessary to do achieve it.

Use velleity in a sentence today. For example: “I have a velleity to eat healthier but I like chocolate too much”.
