Bluff burglars targeting cars

Vehicle crimes are on the increase.

KEEP your vehicles safe as thefts are on the rise, warns Brighton Beach SAPS.

In the last three months, according to media officer, Captain Louise Le Roux, the Brighton Beach policing area has experienced an increase in vehicle-related crimes.

“These crimes are committed generally between the hours of 8am and 8pm with no specific make of vehicle being targeted,” said Capt Le Roux.

Beaches, sporting venues, shopping malls and flea markets have been targeted. Cars have also been stolen during house breakings and off verges outside homes and in business parking lots – particularly those in Clairwood and Jacobs.

Capt Le Roux offers the following guidelines to safeguard your vehicles:
