TRAFFIC WARNING: Avoid Durban CBD as protest march planned

It is not known how many people will be involved in the action.

THERE will be a march in Durban city centre today, so motorists are urged to avoid the areas between Curries Fountain and Durban City Hall if possible.

The Abahlali base Mjondolo will march from Curries Fountain sports grounds to the city hall from about 9am.
They expect to reach the city hall at noon.

A memorandum will be handed over to the city for the attention of the mayor, Zandile Gumede and the MEC for co-operative governance and traditional affairs.

A statement from the movement said they will call for an end to violent and brutal evictions and land, housing and dignity for all.
