Maintenance projects for Bluff

Upgrades for the Bluff on the cards.

MUCH-needed maintenance projects are in full swing on the Bluff to improve the area.

Ageing light poles along Ansteys Beach have been replaced, in the first of many restoration projects planned along the shoreline.

In another part of the Bluff, 12 ward 66 residents have been tasked with maintaining the land along Bluff Road, known as the Zanzibarian land.

“This will include litter collection, cutting of verges and pruning of trees,” said ward 66 councillor, JP Prinsloo. “The project is being run by the department of public works. Each of the workers will work 12 days a month to keep this area clean and well maintained.”

A maintenance contract has also been put in place for Bluff Road to clean, cut verges and prune trees. Seven locals have been given the necessary training to continue with the work.
