Heavy downpour floods roads in South Durban

Nearly 170mm of rain fell in the last three days.

HEAVY rain over the last three days has flooded many roads in the South Durban areas, brought down trees and caused traffic jams.

Take care on the roads this morning as some parts of Tara Road and Marine Drive and other roads are flooded. A tree in Sormany Road blocked almost the whole roadway at the weekend.

Traffic is slow on many of the arterial roads and motorists are urged to use caution and ensure they have their lights on.

Since Friday morning, 169mm of rain was recorded for the Bluff, bringing much-needed hydration to a drought-stricken area.
