Winter woes for Yellowwood Park dog rescue organisation

The NGO requires regular supplies of food and blankets to help injured, abandoned and neglected animals.

WITH Winter approaching, the pressure on rescue organisations and animal shelters is increasing.

NGO Yellowwood Park and Montclair Animals are now appealing to the community for help.

“We are a small organisation of dedicated volunteers who are determined to make a difference in the lives of needy dogs, cats and other animals in our area,” said member of the NGO, Juanita Reynen.

“One of the most important elements when rescuing animals is having a safe place to take them to while they recover and we find them loving homes. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you would like to become a foster parent or to adopt a new family member. Home checks will apply.”

There is a massive need for sponsorships to cover sterilisation costs.

Animal lovers know all too well that sterilisation is one of the best ways to tackle the issues faced by pets. “Challenge your friends and family members to sponsor a spay or even make a small monthly donation to the vet fund,” added Reynen.

The NGO requires regular supplies of the following items in order to help injured, abandoned and neglected animals as well as pets from less fortunate homes in the community.

  • Food (dry or tinned)
  • Blankets
  • Bowls
  • Jerseys
  • Collars and leads
  • Flea and tick treatments
  • Disinfectants, hand sanitisers and gloves

The organisation is looking for corporate sponsors of flyers, stickers, badges and promotional items for community outreach and awareness projects.
