The men were tracked through a hired vehicle and were chased towards KwaMashu where they were stopped.

A HOUSEBREAKING gang was stopped in their tracks by the combined force of Brighton Beach SAPS crime intelligence, Montclair trio task team, Durban and Metro K9 units on Thursday, 20 April.

The gang of five men ransacked homes in Montclair, Greenwood Park, Reservoir Hills, Umkomaas and Amanzimtoti.

They were tracked through a hired vehicle and were chased towards KwaMashu’s Malendela Road where they were stopped. Police arrested the four men and searched the vehicle.

Police found a shotgun, revolver and a flat screen TV.

Montclair SAPS spokesman, Capt Dereck Vijiam said, “The firearms were linked to a housebreaking in Montclair’s Jardine Road and the TV had just been stolen from a house in Reservoir Hills.”
