Montclair’s Hlengiwe makes top 100 of Mrs SA

She believes the community has to find solutions and would one day like to offer solutions for community plights.

MONTCLAIR’S Hlengiwe Msibi (36) could not contain her excitement when she received the news that she had made it into the top 100 of the Mrs South Africa pageant.

The B.Tech graduate in chemical engineering brings to the competition a zest for life and intelligence.

“Mrs South Africa is more than just a pageant – it offers its contestants an opportunity to discover themselves and to be proud of their achievement and intelligence. I will use this experience as a learning curve, to work on myself and on my passions and dreams,” said Msibi.

With an already busy life, juggling a job, five children and being a fundraising chairman for New Forest High’s student governing body, Msibi is not fazed by the hard work that lies ahead as she progresses further into the competition. “I’m very community-orientated and so is Mrs SA. My life might be busy but everything I do is out of love and passion,” she smiled.

Her passion for the community is what encouraged her to enter the competition. She believes the community has to find solutions and would one day like to offer solutions for community plights. “This is a platform as it allows me to go out there and make a difference,” she added.

She encourages women to move out their comfort zone and take a leap of faith.

“We should not fear our dreams – do what you feel makes you happy, make your own breakthrough to make things happen,” she advised.

She thanked her husband for being supportive and helping her stay focused. “I had to find a balance to make this work,” she chuckled.

Hlengiwe asks the community to support her as she journeys on in the competition. To vote for her SMS Hlengiwe Msibi to 35959 or like the Mrs SA Facebook page, also like Hlengiwe’s picture on the page.
