More than just bookworms benefit from 30 years of Bluff SPCA book sale

Help make anniversary sale a success by buying some books this month.

THE Durban and Coast SPCA Bluff book sale celebrates its 30 anniversary this month.

The monthly book sale was started in 1987 by a group of volunteers hoping to do their part to raise funds to help stray, abandoned and abused pets.

“We thank all our supporters, from those who donate their second hand books to those who attend the sale and purchase these books. Each and every one of you has made an impact in the lives of thousands of animals,” said Durban and Coast SPCA marketing manager, Lindsey Concer.

The last Saturday of every month sees volunteers set up the book sale at the Bluff SuperSpar and this month, the 30th anniversary of the book sale will be held on Saturday, 25 March.

“A huge thank you to our volunteers who make sure this fundraiser is a success and keep it growing every month, as well as the Bluff SuperSpar for allowing us to hold this event at their premises.”

Anyone wanting to get involved with the book sale should call Mary on 031-579-6535, emailmary@spcadbn.org.za or visitwww.spcadbn.org.za. To donate second hand goods, call Chantall on 031-579-6534.
