UPDATE: Wentworth mom makes impassioned plea for missing teen daughter’s safe return

Booysen struggled to hold back the tears as she spoke to the Sun about her youngest child

It’s been an emotional few days for Daisy Booysen, mother of missing Wentworth teenager, Solange Holby.

Speaking from her home, Booysen struggled to hold back the tears as she spoke to the Sun about her youngest child.

“I don’t know what is happening and I feel like I’m the one to blame. Maybe I said something that offended her?” she cried.

Booysen last saw her daughter on Saturday, 4 March. She went inside a shop to buy something. “I can’t remember clearly but I think she was waiting outside. After I paid for my items, I went outside but I couldn’t find her,” She added.

Because it was orientation for grade 8 pupils at the local school, the area was full of children dressed in the same uniform as her daughter. “I got confused so I went to the school, hoping she was there. I then went home to check. I looked everywhere but I couldn’t find her, ” added Booysen.

Solange is known as a quiet and good child by her teachers and mother and this is the first time she has disappeared. “I just want my baby back and if anyone knows where she is, please call the police or contact me. If she is reading this, my baby I miss you and everyone loves you. Please come home,” she sobbed.

Aware of the other missing child, Booysen said as a community, Wentworth must pray for the youth.

Being a God-fearing woman, she believes in the power of prayer and said: “I see the missing children in the paper and usually you hear of them being found dead or remain missing for years. I never thought I would have to go through horrible pain and not hearing her voice or not knowing that she’s OK. It hurts – I just want my baby home. All we can do now is pray.”

Anyone with information on Solange’s whereabouts can contact Sgt Dunn on 031-451-6240/6241/6242 or 031-451-6221.
