It is believed the white Golf 6 had been stolen from Durban North before it was used to transport the criminals to and from the murder scene in Montclair.

The men are said to have crashed the Golf in Dalton Road, Umbilo, where a firearm was recovered with an extended magazine. The occupants of the car allegedly fled into the nearby hostel.

Leeann Amas who lives down the road from where the shooting took place, said she saw the two vehicles drive past and seconds later, heard gunshots, “We were so close it felt like the gunshots were going off near us. My husband and I, who were in our car immediately pulled over,” she said.
