Police seek family of unidentified body

They found the knocked victim lying near the pavement.

WENTWORTH SAPS are searching for the relatives of a man aged 45 who was killed in a hit and run on Sunday, 15 January.

At about 2.45am, police officers from Wentworth SAPS attended the accident scene on Lerwick Road bridge in Jacobs. They found the knocked victim lying near the pavement.
The ambulance was called and they confirmed the man already died from serious injuries to his body and head.

The black man was wearing a black short pants and blue/white shirt. He is dark in complexion, has a beard and is of medium build. He was taken to the Gale Street Mortuary where his body will kept until family members identify him.

As no-one has identified him as yet, the police appeal to anyone whose relative has gone missing to contact investigating officer Warrant Officer PC Pillay on 083-786-1901 or 031-451-6279.
