Year-end party brings cheer to seniors

Tea and refreshments were served and what a selection of savoury and sweets there were.

MONTCLAIR Senior Citizens Club met on an extremely hot humid morning.

The meeting was opened by Roy with devotions where he delved into the origin of carols.

Dave welcomed everyone, especially all the visitors. He advised all that the club AGM meeting will be held at 9am on 19 January, if anyone besides the committee members would like to attend. Members with birthdays in December were wished for their special day. Colin shared a joke.

There was an abundance of raffle prizes on offer. It was requested that everyone only accept one prize if their number was drawn so as to give as many people a chance to win something. A big thank you to all those who generously contributed to the raffle prizes.

Tea and refreshments were served and what a selection of savoury and sweets there were. Thank you to all those who assisted to make all the food, and thanks to all the women who assist in the kitchen to prepare the refreshments and clear up afterwards.

Stainbank WI choir entertained everyone with a medley of old favourites and Christmas songs such as ‘All my loving’, ‘Can’t buy me love’, ‘Top of the world’, ‘White Christmas’, ‘Jingle Bells’ and ‘Have a Merry Little Christmas’. All thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.

Montclair Seniors Club wishes all members a safe and blessed Christmas. The club is in recess in January, and the next meeting will be in February.
