Annual denim and diamonds women’s breakfast supports Sunflower Fund

It was a glittering affair from the onset as guests were welcomed with a cocktail sponsored by 1Life.

THE Belvedere Room of the Durban Country Club was abuzz with glitz and glamour on Wednesday, 30 November as 200 women donning their ‘sparkling’ best attended the fourth annual Denim and Diamonds women’s breakfast in support of the Sunflower Fund.

It was a glittering affair from the onset, as guests were welcomed with a cocktail sponsored by 1Life. Further to a delicious breakfast buffet, which was truly a feast for the eye, the women were treated to a fabulous goodie bag, an exclusive BON Natural Oils gift, a Sorbet pamper station, retail therapy via the shopping stalls, tea and coffee throughout the morning as well as a Chateau Gateaux passionate cheesecake and other delectable table treats.

Guest speakers for the morning, Carey Symons, Matthew McDonald and Hilton Stander, added great meaning and significance to an already elaborate event by sharing intimate details of their personal journeys which left the audience impassioned and moved.

Organisers and hosts, Tanya Tostee and Nikki Smith of Key Events were delighted with another successful event. Funds raised from the breakfast will enable The Sunflower Fund to create awareness, and to educate and recruit more blood stem cell donors to increase the number of people registered on the South African Bone Marrow Registry. The more donors on the registry means greater hope for patients diagnosed with chronic blood disorders, like leukaemia, who are in need of a life-saving blood stem cell transplant from a matching unrelated donor.

The Sunflower Fund in Durban thank the valued guests for their support, the esteemed guest speakers, organisers Key Events, main sponsors The Smile Emporium, BON Natural Oils, Chateau Gateaux and the Durban Country Club as well as all other associated event sponsors and contributors.
