Armed gang attacks Woodlands family

The group shouted profanities at the owner and broke all the windows

A WOODLANDS family was assaulted by a group of youngsters armed with pipes and sticks on Saturday, 26 November.

This is the basis of a Montclair police investigation, after the family opened  a case of  grievous bodily harm (GBH).

While watching TV the owner of the house heard people fighting outside. She stood by her door and saw a group of boys and girls in her yard, carrying pipes and sticks. Because of her health, she went to sit down and the armed group stormed into her home and began assaulting her tenant. When she pleaded for them to stop the attack, they charged at her and pushed onto the ground and continued to assault her tenant.

“While on the ground she noticed one of the attackers was her neighbour.

She was picked up from the floor by her children,” said Montclair SAPS communication officer, Cpt Dereck Vijiam. The group assaulted her children and searched every room of the house, looking for more people.

They shouted profanities at the owner and broke all the windows in the house at the owner when she told them to leave.

It is unknown at this stage why the family was attacked by the group but Montclair SAPS are investigating.
