Drugs dropper cuffed

Dagga recovered.

A MAN’s attempts to discard his drugs proved futile when Wentworth SAPS caught him redhanded.

On Wednesday, 23 November Wentworth SAPS officers, Constables Lindokuhle Mkhize and Sthembiso Ngema were patrolling along Major Calvert Road when they noticed a known drug carrier in the area.
They stopped their vehicle and began to follow the 28-year-old man on foot. Eventually, he noticed the police officers and jumped into a yard.

The police gave chase and saw the man drop a clear plastic packet on the ground just before they collared him. “The officers picked up one plastic bag with 90 capsules containing heroine and two other bags containing dagga,” said Wentworth SAPS communication officer, Cpt Mbuso Gumede.

The 28-year-old was arrested and charged for possession of heroin and possession of dagga. He was detained and appeared in court today, 24 November.
