Wentworth Angels staves off eviction

Wentworth Angels welcomes a visit from anyone who would like to provide assistance to the home,

SINCE receiving an eviction notice, Wentworth Angels was operating under the threat of possibly having to shut down.

But thanks to the help of generous people on social media as well as those who attended the #Savewentworthangels dance, the NPO has managed to pay off some of its outstanding rent bill, which stood at R34,000 as well as the electricity bill of R2,500. “We managed to pay R15,000 towards our rent and paid off the electricity bill but this is not the end. We still need to raise more funds to get out of arrears and cover the new month’s rent,” said Wentworth Angels founder, Tracey Williams.

The money raised has allowed the NPO to continue to keep its doors open for the needy. The NPO thanked Artie’s Freelance Photos, Jozi Friends FC and Throttle Brothers for the support. “They have all opened their hearts in keeping the Angels’ home operational. The landlord has agreed to cancel the eviction notice,” she added.

Williams welcomes a visit from anyone who would like to provide assistance to the home, to spend time with the children. If you would like to assist or make a donation to Wentworth Angels call Tracey Williams on 074-703-1393.
