Armed robbers tell victim to go back to sleep

He was greeted by two gunmen with firearms

A WOODHAVEN man was woken by the sound of footsteps in his home on Friday night, 11 November.

He got up and looked through the window where he saw a car parked in the yard. Thinking it was the house owner’s car, he opened the door to investigate further. He was greeted by two gunmen with firearms pointed in his face. “He was told to go back to sleep,” said Montclair SAPS communication officer, Cpt Dereck Vijiam.

Without saying a word, the man went back to bed and the two gunmen locked him in the room. He could hear the intruders running through the house. He looked through the window again and saw the car drive off at high speed. A wallet and cellphone were reportedly taken.
