VIDEO: Minimal signs of canal oil spill in harbour

Source of the spill in the Umhlatuzana canal is being probed

ACCORDING to the Bluff Alliance’s Ivor Aylward, thousands of litres of oil or diesel have flowed down the Clairwood canal into the harbour today following a spill.

The source of the spill on the Umhlatuzana canal which runs through Clairwood is being investigated. However, authorities are on the scene in an attempt to limit the environmental impact and damage.

Their efforts seem to have been a success, as at the Bluff Yacht Club where the canal empties out into the harbour, there is little sign of the spillage
