He fired a shot through the window

A MOTORIST dodged a bullet when he was shot at on Saturday, 15 Ocotober at the SJ Smith hostel.

The motorist was sitting in his parked car near the hostel when a man approached him and tried to open the door.

Realising the car was locked, he demanded the driver unlock the doors but he refused. The unknown man then produced a firearm from his pants pocket. “He fired a shot through the window but the motorist leaned back and the bullet missed him,” said Montclair SAPS communication officer, Capt Dereck Vijiam. The gunman fled the scene.

If seen again, the victim will be able to identify him. Montclair officers visited the crime scene and found cartridges which will be sent for ballistic testing
