Pageant princess stakes her claim to titles

When eight-year-old, Nolwandle Mzobe talks, people listen

A YOUNG Woodlands girl is making her name known in the pageant world by claiming the Miss Petite Zululand, Miss Personality and Face of Zululand titles on 25 June.

Eight-year-old, Nolwandle Mzobe has been in the modelling business since the age of four and has already left a mark with every competition she competes in.
Her many crowns and sashes tell a tale of the commitment and passion of the school girl, as she wins the hearts of the judges and her audience. Her mother, Dudu encouraged her daughter to follow her desire to model.

“I have watched her grow into a young lady. She is more confident and outspoken and when she talks, people listen,” she said.

Nolwandle Mzobe is ready to tackle the world.

With the help of her mother, Mzobe will be working with charities.
“It’s right for her at this age to experience it and to learn about different people and their situations. I strive for my child to be strong-willed, independent and to stand up for the world and its people,” said Dudu.

Although she enjoys pageants and modelling, Mzobe also likes to play basketball and one day hopes to become a doctor.

“I like being outside and playing. I want to help others and be a good role model,” she said.

She encourages young girls and boys to take up modelling.

“Don’t worry too much. Become who you want to be. Stay positive and be encouraged and motivated to follow your dreams,” she added.

Education is important to her and her mother makes sure it stays a priority.
“Education comes first. Whatever she is doing now is for her to build confidence within herself. This will help with school. Education is fundamental for her growth and for her to reach beyond the stars,” said Dudu.
