Three taxi crash injures 35

Two people were entrapped in one of the vehicles

Three taxis collided, injuring 35 people on the M4 southbound just after Quality Street in Durban on Friday evening at about 6.30pm.

Rescue Care paramedics found three taxis had collided in the fast lane of the  freeway. Two people were entrapped in one of the vehicles and fire department was called to assist as well as more ambulances to attend to the injured. Advanced life support paramedics stabilised all the injured, including the two entrapped, before transporting them  to various Durban hospitals.

It is unclear what caused the three taxis to collide into each other however SAPS were on scene and will  investigate further.
